I am so excited. We just booked the dates and along with Steve Gosling, we will be offering an incredible week of photography in the Faroe Islands. Mark your calendar for May 2-9th 2020 and notify me that you are interested in this workshop. Information on pricing and itinerary will be published soon. Space is limited and this will promise to be an exceptional experience. Email me at [email protected] for more information when it becomes available.
If you haven’t visited the Palouse in the summer you’re missing a rare treat. This is one of my favorite areas in America to do photography. It’s not a National Park or a place with scenic overlooks. It’s an area of rolling green hills that take on new dimensions with the shadows of clouds and early and late day light. We chase the light. While I know a ton of good locations since I have been coming to the region since 2005 I am still finding new gems. This a four-person workshop where we travel where other workshops can’t go in our suburban 4wd vehicle. Except for airfare to Spokane, everything else is included. Your hotel, transportation, and all meals are part of the price. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. I have one spot left for this trip and still have an opening for our Harvest Time trip in August. Check them out. If you have questions, let me know.
We are back and bigger than ever. Exciting times. So far this year we have had two great workshops. One in Japan and one in Antarctica. Our next workshops start this summer in the Palouse.
As you may know, we used to facilitate workshops for Luminous Landscape. At the beginning of this year, we have separated from LuLa and in addition, myself and the rest of my team there have joined me on a new venture to launch a new website for photographers photoPXL.com. This is an exciting project and we have a dream of making this site the go-to place for all of those that have a serious interest in photography. If you go to photoPXL.com you can sign up to be notified when we are ready to launch the site.
As you can see but maybe not in details the site will look different than what we were used to before. We have done a lot of engineering so you can find the content that appeals to you the most. We’ll have a lot of other cool feature too that we will highlight in future posts. We expect to launch our new site this May. If you are interested you can sign up at photopxl.com to be notified. In the meantime, we will be posting more often here and letting everyone know about our new workshops that are coming or soon to take place.
I am now back in the office and in catch up mode. The Luminous-Landscape workshop I just finished running in Iceland was a success. I did this workshop with my long time friend Daniel Bergmann who is one of the premier guides for Iceland. He is also a great photographer and wildlife expert.
Iceland has gotten quite crowded with tourists over the last several years. While this is good for the country economically it is a burden on many visitors as there are now so many people. On our trips, we won’t even go near the tourist spots. Too many buses and crazy people. Instead, we travel to the remote and more picturesque areas of Iceland that tourists don’t visit. This year we visited some places I haven’t visited before. The bottom line if I came home with a ton of nice images. Some of which I share below.
I used a Fuji XT2 with a wide variety of lenses to capture these photos.
